Install the 3CX Windows App

General


Once you followed the steps to log into your 3CX Webclient you are ready to install the 3CX .


After you logged into the Webclient for the first time, a Pop-up window appears, showing a QR code to connect the Mobile app. You can install the mobile App on your mobile phone and scan the QR code, or click the window away, using the X top right.


If you are a new user to 3CX, please scroll down to 'Installing the Windows App'. 

If you have used 3CX previously, you have to remove all previous 3CX Apps from your computer in order to have the Windows App installed and provisioned.


On your computer click on the Windows Icon (Windows 10, bottom left):


click on the Cogwheel:


On the 'Windows Settings' Page choose 'Apps':


Click on any 3CX install that is available and choose 'Uninstall' for every single installed App (EXCEPT SEE BELOW!) and follow the uninstall process!


WARNING!

If in your Apps list the following entry appears, DO NOT UNINSTALL IT!

Entries below can be uninstalled.


Once the 3CX Apps lined out above have been uninstalled you can continue as per below.




Installing the Windows App


Finding the Apps


Once you are inside the Webclient, head to the bottom left on the Side Pane and choose 'Apps'.


This will lead you to the 'Apps' section, from where you can download the Windows App'.

Click on 'Windows App' to download.

The 'Windows App' will be provided using the Microsoft Store.


After you clicked on the 'Windows App' a Pop-Up opens, offering you to install the Windows App using a Link or to search for 3CX in the Microsoft Store:


Choose the direct Link to have the Microsoft Store opened:


Once you clicked on the Link, a new Browser Tab/Window opens, asking to open Microsoft Store. 

Confirm with 'Open' to go ahead:


Microsoft Store will open the page of the App.

On the Top right choose 'Get':


Once you clicked on 'Get', the App will start to download:


And once fully downloaded the App can be opened:


Click on 'Open' to start the App:



Meanwhile you can also close the Microsoft Store by pressing the 'X' Top right:


Once the Microsoft Store window is gone you should see the 3CX Windows App (unprovisioned) and the 3CX provisioning Pop Up:


In the 3CX Provisioning Pop Up click on 'Provision' to have the App provisioned and register:


Another Pop Up opens, asking to open a Link with the 3CX App. 

Tick the box beside 'Allways allow .....' and then choose 'Open':


Once you have clicked on 'Open' an optional Window from Windows Defender might Open, asking to allow this Software to communicate on Private and Public Networks.

In order to ensure full functionality of the Softphone, especially on Notebooks that might be used for travels, both Networks should be allowed. 

Ensure both boxes are Ticked and choose 'Allow access':


The 3CX Windows App is now provisioned and you are able to see your Team, Contacts, receive Calls, establish calls, ....


You can go back to the browser now and close the Provisioning Window:



And also log out of the Webclient, by going Top right:


Then choose 'Logout':


This won't affect the Status of the Windows App but will ensure you're not logged into the Webclient and have the Ringtone of 2 Applications in your Headset.




Headset


The Windows App takes the default Output and Input device from the Sound Settings. There is no Headset Integration necessary.


Click on the Windows icon bottom left:


Click on the Cogwheel:


Inside the Windows Dettings choose 'Devices':


On the Devices Window choose 'Sound settings' on the right side:


On the Sound Settings page ensure your Headset is the chosen Output and Input device:


Once this is confirmed, close the settings by clicking the X top right.
